Montenegro Travel Information


Montenegro (Montenegrin: Crna Gora) is a country in southeastern Europe. It shares land borders with Albania. Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kosovo (which is claimed by Serbia), and Serbia, as well as having a coastline on the Adriatic Sea (an arm of the Mediterranean Sea).

As of 2009, the population of Montenegro was estimated as being 672,180.

The country's capital and largest city is Podgorica, which, as of 2003, had an estimated population of 169,132. Additionally, the town of Cetinje is designated as Prijestonica, the former Royal Capital, and is both the historic capital of the country and the place containing the official residence of the President of Montenegro.
